Exporting setup data

You can export your inputs to an XML file and use it to copy your setup data to another Field Manager PRO data file. The XML file you export will contain specific inputs for measurement units, nutrients, pests, seeds, crops, pesticides, fertilizers and other inputs. You can automatically email the XML file to any recipient you want. This is useful if someone else has Field Manager Pro and wants to use a similar input list to yours or if you want to create multiple data files with the same inputs.

To export setup data:

  1. Select Export Setup Data from the Tools menu.
  2. Select the setup items to include in the XML file.
  3. Click Browse  to display the Export File dialogue box.
  4. Locate where you want to save your XML file.
  5. Click Email Setup to automatically attach your XML file to an email after it’s generated.
  6. Click Launch default email client.
Note: Field Manager PRO Desktop can only attach the XML file automatically if you use Microsoft Outlook as your email client. If you use a different email program, Field Manager PRO Desktop will launch it but you’ll  have to attach the file manually.
  7. Enter the recipient’s email address, along with an email subject and message (if you’re emailing your file). Field Manager PRO Desktop will remember what you entered in these fields the next time you open this dialogue box.
  8. Click Export on the toolbar to save the file and launch your email program.
